MIIT Reveals 12 Cities for First Phase of Telecom/Broadcast/Internet Network Convergence Trials

China's MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) recently revealed on its website the commencement of trials for the telecom/broadcast/Internet network convergence project initiated by China's State Council, the Sina News reported on July 1, adding that the first phase of trials will include 12 cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Dalian (Liaoning Province), Haerbin (Heilongjiang Province), Nanjing (Jiangsu Province), Hangzhou (Zhenjiang Province), Wuhan (Hubei Province), Qingdao (Shandong Province), Xiamen (Fujian Province), Changzhutan (Hunan Province), Shenzhen (Guangdong Province), and Mianyang (Sichuan), according to the same source. However, the cities of Tianjin and Chongqing are yet to be included in the first phase of trials.
